Mushroom fights breast cancer

A study was conducted in China and involved 1,009 patients suffered from breast cancer between the ages of 20 and 87, and an equal number of healthy women the same age. They all completed a questionnaire about their diet. [2] Researchers found that women consuming at least a third of an ounce of fresh mushrooms every day were 64 per cent less likely to develop a tumor. [1] Dried mushrooms had a slightly less protective effect, reducing the risk by around half.[1]

It's known that the rate of breast cancer in China is four- to five- times lower than rates typically seen in developed countries -- though the rate has been increasing over the last few decades in the most affluent parts of China. [2]
