man boobs

The seeming inevitability of "manboobs" has even spurred some middle-aged men to embrace the situation. [2]

When both the then Prime Minister Tony Blair and leader of the opposition David Cameron were pictured enjoying the sun in the summer of 2006, newspapers from tabloid to broadsheet passed comment on their "moobs". [1]

Some boys take to radical weight-loss diets or manic exercise regimens to solve the problem, while others go to extreme lengths to hide it: buying special clothes, wearing multiple layers, hunching over or wrapping themselves in Ace bandages—even gaining weight to shift the emphasis elsewhere. [2]

Every man has breast tissue, but some have excessive breasts. This ranges from classical cases of gynaecomastia, prompted by a range of causes, to breasts enlarged entirely by deposits of fat over the pectoral muscles. [1]

Genetic disorders like Klinefelter's Syndrome - having an extra "X" chromosome - also account for some cases, and there are a rising number of men suffering from excessive breast tissue as a side effect of drugs prescribed for prostate cancer. [1]

Plastic surgeons say the procedure today is easier, safer and more effective than it's ever been. The surgery ranges in price from about $4,000 to $10,000 and can take as little as an hour, depending on the size and makeup of the breast. [2]

Rumor (scientifically sounds right, but I couldn't find any scientific support)
Eating soy will greatly increase "man boobs" due to the phytoestrogens in soy. The goitrogens in soy slow your thyroid and consequently slow your metabolism and will cause you to gain weight overall. Soy also depletes your body of minerals and in particular iron. Eating tofu (natto, miso, soy sauce?) will reduce your libido because that was what it was designed to do originally for the monks and it still does that to men today.
